MatchmakerAI (“we”, “us”, or “our”) operates the MatchmakerAI mobile application (the “App”). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. By creating an account or using the App, you agree to the collection and use of information as described here.
Information We Collect
When you create an account, we collect:
- Your first name
- Date of birth (used to verify you meet our minimum age requirement)
- Up to three profile photos
- Country
- Gender and the gender(s) you are interested in
- A short bio you write
- Email address and password
We also collect information generated while you use the App, including:
- Email verification codes sent to confirm your email address (we store a hashed version of the code, never the code itself, along with an expiry time)
- Messages you send to our in-app support chat
- Basic technical data such as authentication tokens and timestamps, generated automatically by Firebase when you use the App
How We Use Your Information
- To create and maintain your account
- To verify your email address and age
- To display your profile to other users as part of the core matchmaking service
- To provide customer support
- To maintain the security and integrity of the App
We do not sell your personal information.
How We Store and Process Your Information
The App is built on Google Firebase. Your account credentials, profile data, and photos are stored using Firebase Authentication, Cloud Firestore, and Firebase Storage. Access to your profile data in our database is restricted to your own account. Email delivery for verification codes is handled by our transactional email provider, Brevo, solely for the purpose of sending you that code.
Data Retention
We retain your account information for as long as your account is active. If you request deletion of your account and data (see below), we will delete your information, subject to any legal obligations that require us to retain certain records for a limited period.
Your Rights
You may access, correct, or delete your personal information at any time. To request deletion of your account and associated data, visit our Data Deletion Request page.
Children’s Privacy
The App is not intended for anyone under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the “Last updated” date above.
